A US based startup Fluree announced a successfull $4.7M seed round to build a blockchain based database solution.
Fluree intends to bring immutability of blockchain into storing and querying of data. Their solution by will have a free community and a paid enterprise versions.
Brian Platz, the startup’s founder and CEO explained that his idea will combine blockchain and graph database technologies.
Blockchain in databases will provide proof of no tampering with the data. However, a 100% decentralised solution will be slow. Brian Platz told Techcrunch that use of blockchain in databases will mean a tradeoff between speed and decentralization.
